Applied Coating Technologies Ltd is investing in a full replacement of the roof covering to the main building at its Western Road, Oldbury site, to reduce heat loss and improve the thermal performance of the building. This includes the removal of the existing roof covering and the installation of a new insulated twin-skin metal roof system.
An initial review of available solutions has identified the following equipment types as suitable benchmarks; however, alternative equipment will be considered where it can demonstrate performance equivalent to or exceeding the capability of the referenced items.
The proposed scope currently comprises:
- Removal, separation and lawful disposal of the existing roof build-up, including the inner lining, existing insulation, timber packers and asbestos-cement roof sheets.
- Installation of a new twin-skin built-up metal roof system comprising an internal liner panel, spacer and bracket system, quilt insulation and an external weather sheet, to achieve the roof thermal performance required for the building.
- Replacement rooflights within the defined re-roof area.
- New gutters, outlets, downpipes and associated rainwater goods.
- Flashings, cappings, closures and the canopy flashing works required to complete a weather-tight roof.
All access, edge protection, safety netting and temporary weather protection required to carry out the works while the factory remains operational.
Suppliers must be able to demonstrate the competence, training and insurance required to undertake non-licensed asbestos removal work.
We welcome all relevant suppliers to quote for this opportunity. For the full tender specification and details of how to submit, please email mzaka@applicoat.com.
